Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team.</p></div><h2><strong>About the role</strong></h2> <p>We are looking for an experienced <strong>Senior Payroll Analyst</strong> to join our Global Payroll team and play a key role in the delivery and continuous improvement of payroll across our international markets.</p> <p>This is a senior operational role with responsibility for overseeing payroll activity across multiple countries. You will bring strong payroll expertise, sound judgement and a proactive approach to ensure employees are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with local legislation.</p> <p>Working closely with the Payroll Team, internal HR and People teams, Finance, Tax and external payroll providers, you will take ownership of complex payroll activities, provide subject-matter expertise and act as a key escalation point for payroll issues.</p> <p>The role will also provide opportunities to support <strong>international payroll projects, process improvements, system implementations and automation</strong>, helping Deliveroo build a scalable and efficient global payroll operation.</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Take ownership of the <strong>end-to-end payroll delivery</strong> for assigned international entities.</li> <li>Partner with local HR, People Operations, Finance and Tax teams to ensure payroll inputs are complete, accurate and delivered within agreed timelines.</li> <li>Review, validate and approve payroll inputs and outputs, identifying discrepancies, trends and potential risks before payroll is finalised.</li> <li>Apply a strong understanding of <strong>legislation across multiple jurisdictions, statutory requirements and payroll practices</strong>, ensuring processes remain compliant and appropriately controlled.</li> <li>Work closely with external payroll providers, holding them accountable for <strong>accuracy, timeliness, compliance and service delivery</strong>.</li> <li>Act as a senior escalation point for complex employee and stakeholder payroll queries, providing clear guidance and appropriate resolutions.</li> <li>Perform and oversee payroll reconciliations, payment validation and statutory submissions, ensuring appropriate controls are completed and documented.</li> <li>Analyse payroll data and reporting to identify anomalies, control weaknesses, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.</li> <li>Maintain strong payroll governance and documentation, ensuring processes, controls and procedures are consistently followed.</li> <li>Proactively identify opportunities to <strong>simplify, standardise and automate payroll processes</strong>, reducing manual intervention and operational risk.</li> <li>Support and lead payroll-related projects, including <strong>system implementations, payroll migrations, integrations, process changes and new entity onboarding</strong>.</li> <li>Partner with Technology and payroll vendors to troubleshoot system and integration issues and support effective resolution.</li> <li>Contribute to the development of payroll policies, procedures, controls and best practices across international markets.</li> <li>Share knowledge and provide guidance to Payroll Analysts and other team members, helping to build capability and consistency across the wider team.</li> <li>Stay up to date with changes to payroll legislation and communicate relevant impacts to internal stakeholders and payroll providers.</li> <li>Support the Payroll Lead with wider global payroll initiatives and deputise where required.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What you’ll bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Significant experience working in a <strong>payroll analyst or senior payroll position</strong>, ideally within a complex, international organisation.</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience of <strong>international payroll</strong>, with experience of <strong>Italy and/or France payroll highly desirable</strong>.</li> <li>Good working knowledge of Italian and/or French payroll legislation, statutory requirements and payroll processes is preferable.</li> <li>Experience managing payroll across multiple countries and working with <strong>third-party payroll providers</strong>.</li> <li>Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, payments, statutory reporting and compliance.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate payroll data, identify discrepancies and understand the root cause of issues.</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on payroll accuracy and risk management.</li> <li>Experience of identifying and implementing <strong>process improvements, automation and operational efficiencies</strong>.</li> <li>Experience supporting or leading payroll projects, system implementations or payroll migrations.</li> <li>Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data and reporting.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>Workday/Cloudpay</strong> or other HR/payroll technology is preferred.</li> <li>Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence and provide a clear point of view.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly to both payroll and non-payroll stakeholders.</li> <li>A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the
