Our Engineering teams tackle complex technical challenges across a global, three-sided marketplace, building and scaling systems that serve millions of customers, riders and partners every day.</p> <p>From real-time logistics to resilient infrastructure and marketplace optimisation, we design, build and operate technology that powers Deliveroo’s growth at scale.<br><br><strong>The Team</strong>: <br>MX Intelligence builds the tools DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt use to find, sign and onboard restaurants and merchants. That covers identifying and matching prospective merchants through to the CRM, quoting and contracting tools sales teams use to bring them onto the platform. We're replacing a Salesforce-based stack with one first-party platform shared across all three brands.<br><br>We’re looking for a<strong> Software Engineer II (Full stack) </strong>to join our <strong>London (Hybrid - 3 days from the office)</strong> team. In this role, you’ll  work across the stack, from the backend services and integrations that handle merchant discovery, matching and onboarding to the web tools sales and operations teams use to quote and sign merchants</p> <p>Get to know our <a class="ng-star-inserted" href="https://careers.deliveroo.co.uk/software-engineering-at-deliveroo/" target="_blank">Engineering</a> team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.</p> <p><strong>What you'll do?</strong></p> <p>As a Software Engineer at Deliveroo, your individual work contributes to achieving goals in and across your team. While you will work with your team and you may lead projects, some of your work will contribute outside of your direct remit. You will report to managers and group leads and together deliver the results.</p> <p><strong>Technical Execution:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>You will improve code structure, have an impact on architecture, and review code of any scope produced by your team.</p> </li> <li> <p>You'll aim to simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems, visibility, operational readiness, and health of your team's systems.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboration & Leadership:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>As well as leading from the front regarding technical execution, you'll build relationships with other engineering teams and, identify collaboration opportunities.</p> </li> <li> <p>You'll own larger pieces of work, assist with design and technical / implementation choices and influence the roadmap within your team.</p> </li> <li> <p>You will take an active role in the hiring process and conducting engineering interviews. This will also extend to the current team where you will support the personal growth of colleagues, encouraging efficiency in their roles.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Expectations:</strong></p> <p>We want to emphasise that we don't expect you to meet all of the below but would love you to have experience in some of these areas.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience writing web-based applications in any language, and an interest in learning (Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust)</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above)</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with "NoSQL" data backends and other (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache)</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience solving logistical problems with software</p> </li> </ul> <h3>Why Join Us?</h3> <p>At Deliveroo, you’ll do work that matters—solving real-world problems in a three-sided marketplace that’s constantly evolving.
